Parent Education Training Services:

The Parenting Educaiton Program is an eight-month program which teaches parent advocacy and policy development skills. Parents learn about individual rights, special education, law, employment, treatment, discrimination, cultural competency, mediation and residential services.

Nursing/Medical Services:

The Medical Services Department offers counseling and education to individuals and families with a disability diagnosis. Nursing services are designed to coordinate crisis, nutritional needs, behavior issues and psychological counseling services to enhance wellness and trust of medical services to individuals and families. Nursing services coodinate and monitor indisidual programs. The Medical Services Department assists with access to satisfactory health care services establishing and maintaining primary health care to promote a lifetime of health and wellness and self-directed care. A psychiatric clinic is offered weekly on-site at IMD which includes: Diagnosis, assessment, developmental disabilities, MH, medication management and behavior management.

Cultural Competency Training:

Cultural Competency Training is offered to professionals to increase their skills in providing culturally appropriate services to diverse populations. The training team offers individual and organizational training to create a climate where multicultural perspectives and relationships can develop and responsive care can take place.
